Tanzania forms part of the East African Countries. It is located with in the great lakes; Victoria, Tanganyika and Malawi – with the Indian Ocean on its’ coastline to the east. It is neighbored by Uganda and Kenya to the north, Mozambique and Malawi to the south, Zambia to the southwest and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda and Burundi to the west.
The game viewing adventures are one of the best in Africa. It is a site to view several endless herds of wildebeest and zebra moving across the plains on their yearly migration then the predatory lions, cheetah, leopard and hyena.
Tanzania is situated at an altitude of beyond 1,000ft, aside from a coastal strip change in width from 10 to 40 miles. The biggest portion of the country is covered by the plateau averaging 3,000 to 4,500ft in height. Mountains are grouped in numerous sections. The Pare and Usambara ranges are in the northeast and the Livingstone Mountains in the southwest. Kilimanjaro (19,340ft) in the north is the highest mountain in Africa.
On the borders are three large lakes; Victoria, the second-largest freshwater lake in the world, Tanganyika, one of the deepest in the world; and Lake Malawi. Other lakes within Tanzania include Rukwa, Manyara, Natron and Eyasi.
The country also harbors large numbers of elephants, chimpanzees and beautiful beaches.
