Uganda the Pearl of Africa
The pearl of Africa occupies a total area of approximately 236,000km²band is neighbored by Sudan in the North, Kenya in the east, and Tanzania in the South, Rwanda in the southwest and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the west and northwest.
The great pearl is a land locked country found on both sides of the Equator between 4°N and 1°S. About 33,926 km²of the actual area is open water, 194,000 km² is dry land and 7,674 km² stable water swamps.
The biggest portion of Uganda in made up of a plateau approximately 4,000 ft in height. Besides the western border of the Rwenzori Mountains reaching heights of greater than 16,000 ft, however on the eastern frontier Mount Elgon stands to 14,178 ft. By distinction, the Western Rift Valley, which starts from north to south passed the western half of the pearl, is deeps down to about 3,000 ft on the floor of Lake Edward and Lake George and about 2,000 ft on the floor of Lake Albert.
Uganda is occupied by numerous ranges of habitats starting from snow capped mountain tops found in the west to semi arid areas situated in the north east, some rain forests in the middle part and west to open waters of different lakes.
